Technology is not a fad. It is not a craze. It is not a trend and it is not a whim. It is here to stay. We, as
educators, must realize that technology is a tool we must embrace and utilize to raise levels of teaching and learning.
To live, learn, and work successfully in an increasingly complex and information-rich society, students must be able to use
technolgy effectively.
Parents, employers, communities, nations, and students themselves want this knowledge. The following webpages were designed
to inform you of ways to bring technology into the minds of your staff. Within the pages, you will read about the research
surrounding technology issues and ways to move forward with integration. I have included interesting facts and some
humor about living in this remarkable digital world. I hope you enjoy. Mary Beth
It took radio 38 years to reach an audience of 50 million people. It
took TV 13 years to reach an audience of 50 million people. It took the Internet only four years to
reach a user base of 50 million people; two years later it was accessible to double that number. (International Center for Leadership in Education)
